Transport
Kandy has an public transport system based on primary on buses. The bus service is operated both by private and government own Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
Roads
* A1 highway (Kandy road) connects Colombo with Kandy.
* A9 highway connects Jaffan with Kandy.
Rail
* Matale Line of the Sri Lanka Railways connects Kandy byway of Pradeniya and Matale. It connects to the Main Line that links Colombo and Badulla
